So here's how it goes. For the last several years we've never stayed anywhere long enough to really warrant the time, effort, and money that curtains sometimes require.
The last place we hung curtains was in Wymount at BYU. That was 5 or 6 moves ago.
When we moved here, curtains were one of the first things to do. I got three and a half rooms done before moving onto higher ranking priorities. While she was here, Mom finished two more rooms for me. Bless you, mother.
They remind me we're sticking around.

Mary, those are beautiful! They really do pull the room together. I can't believe they're homemade!
I know just what you mean about feeling settled. I dream about the day when I'll have my own home and can finally pull out all of my photos and treasures. For now I just have one thing: I'm not really moved in until my books are arranged just so, somewhere on a shelf, and if I move into a place that has no shelves I put one up so that I can complete my ritual.
I think I'd stare at them too! It must feel nice to settle down somewhere for a while!
I really like them Mary! I love the colors too! Great job!
It's a welcome surprise to see toile tie-ups (?) again the cranberry color. I really like them. Good job.
I know how you feel about not wanting to do curtains (and for me decorating in general) when you know you aren't going to stay for long. They look beautiful, by the way! Send your mom over to my house please -
Yea Mare!! I am glad I get to see a picture of them. I love them. They are perfect. By the way, I lost my phone again! I will call you when I find it!
