Christmas Week with the Glausers

After 25 hours on the road we made it just as the snow started to fall. Three kids could not have been more thrilled as they watched it come down. They've been waiting for the snow for a long time....and they got plenty of it.

We had the whole week before Christmas with the Glausers. It was cold, snowy, and so much fun.

A quick (as in long enough to pull out the camera and turn around and go home) trip to Temple Square in the freezing cold to see the lights.

Lots and lots of snow to play in... Sawyer just relaxing with Natalie and Jeremy Grandpa getting fancy with his new found crepe flipping skills.

We're evening up the odds- another girl joins the family! We already adore Natalie and are so happy for the two of them!

To "His" Mother

Matt's grandma has this poem in cross stitch on her wall and I've always thought it was kind of sweet. It's expressive of how I feel for Matt's mom, and what I wish I would have taken the time to tell her before she passed away 3 years ago.

To "His" Mother

'Twas you who watched his baby ways,

Welcome Home

Matt's brother, Jeremy, returned from a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints just 1 week before Christmas. We went to Redlands to hear him speak in church and report on his mission the weekend after Christmas. Jeremy was a wonderful missionary and had a lot of great experiences.

He's in Provo now getting ready for BYU's soccer practice next week. Watch out girls!

Birthday Reunion

A vanload of Glausers arrived today! It's the first time we've been together for over 2 years.

It was the best birthday present. Happy 29th Birthday, Matt!

(We rescheduled the ski trip, by the way).

Reunions

August was family reunion month. We just got back from a little Glauser reunion as we all (minus Jeremy on his mission) gathered in Redlands for Nathan's Eagle Court of Honor this weekend:

We had so much fun at both. As Garrett said to Stevie at their parting in Island Park,

a few more glausers

A few weeks ago, we had a couple of Matt's brothers here visiting for a few days. We had so much fun, but stayed up way too late visiting and were really tired!

Mike, Meli and Lance stayed for just a couple of days before leaving for Mexico for the summer to visit Meli's family and so that Mike can try out to play profession basketball there. Dustin spent a few more days with us. We had a great time!

spring break adventures #2: NYC

The Greatest Show on Earth

We went into New York on Tuesday to see the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. It was as fun and excited as I imagined the circus would be. It was also really loud. Garrett and Ethan both spent most of the night with their hands over their ears!

We also did a little sightseeing, and ate pizza at Lombardi's, the restaurant that claims to be the first Pizzeria in America. It was pretty darn good pizza.

spring break adventures #1: Shore

Our first adventures included Sandy Hook Lighthouse, and Belmar Beach. Did you know that the Sandy Hook Lighthouse is the oldest working lighthouse in the country? It is. It's almost 250 years old.

I call this one, "Waiting for Her Ship to Come In":

Near the lighthouse is Fort Hancock. They boys were happy to find a missile shell (or whatever those are) in each of their sizes.
