Dad's day

My dad passed away 13 years ago
today.

Today I'm celebrating my dad.

Today I'm celebrating my family.

If there's one thing I've gained through the trials in my life it is that they've made me a better person. They've made me stronger.

Our family is stronger. The older we get and the more challenges we face, the more we learn from and lift one another.

My dad left an incredible legacy for my family.

I intend to live up to it, and I'm going to need all the trials the Lord has in store for me to develop the qualities I need in order to do that.

I think that's how Dad approached his cancer. Although it defeated him, he let it make him a better person along the way, and he was a remarkable person.

To my family:

I love you. I'll be thinking of all of you throughout this Service Day.

Your dad really was an amazing man. May your heart be strengthened on this day while you remember him.

Say hi to your mom for me! I miss her. She is a wonderful lady.

Take care, B

Your dad was our Bishop when we first moved to Redlands. Although I was six, I remember my parents talking about how we were so lucky to be in Bishop Lenhofs ward and how much they loved him.

Thanks for the reminder about "trial perspective". I wish I could have known your dad.

I also remember your Dad being our first Bishop when we moved to Redlands @ the Center Street Bldg. He was a great man. I remember that he had Lunch Bunch @ Redlands High School. All the LDS kids had lunch on Weds (I think)in his class room. It was a great way that all of us can get together at that HUGE School. He always had a smile on whenever I saw him, if at school or church. You have every right to be proud of your Dad and to be his Daughter. Your family have always been a great example of hard work, love and how to live the Gospel.

Please tell your Mom Hello for me.

That is nice. It's a good reminder of what impressions we leave on our children too. By the way, is that you on the far right?

Though I never met him, your dad had a profound impact on my in-laws, and anything I've ever heard of him has been nothing short of miraculously inspiring. What a wonderful family you have.
