today is a big day

True, I didn't vote for him.

He and I disagree and I'm still not quite sure who he really is.

But today was historic; amazing really, and it brought me to tears.

Our country has come so far.

Now, I pray he can do what he says he will.

I agree! I was so engaged with the whole day events...I loved the picture of his "picture perfect family" but I hope his word to his policies are as good as his family life seems to come off!

I agree, mostly. As I watched I was emotional about how far our country has come. And how it was so amazing that people like Rev. Lowery could see the first black president after all his years fighting for civil rights. BUT I was having a hard time as I remembered all the change Obama promised. Some of that change that I don't think will be good for our country.

The kids and I watched it together. Abby said, "mom, can a girl be president?" It was amazing to be able to not only tell her but show her that anyone can be president.

I'm optimistic and believe Obama is exactly what this country needs as a President this day in age. He understands that the US needs to be a global partner and ally with other nations. I too hope he can live up to his end of the deal. But I like how he emphasized in his speech that it will take everyone, not just DC and government, but all citizens to make lasting change in this nation. Okay, I'll get off my soapbox.
