blogging when I should be doing dishes

We're on the countdown. We've got just over two weeks left here. Then we begin our whirlwind month of May in which we will attempt to squeeze into the schudule:
three last east coast trips,
a birthday party for Garrett,
a variety of doctor/dentist appointments
finals,
graduation,
moving out,
moving acrosse the country (would you believe this will be the 4th time we will have moved from coast to coast in less than 2 years?),
moving in,
a wedding
and somewhere in there...sleep.
.
Matt and I have both somewhat mentally "checked out", which has made things a little frustrating. Frustrating because we feel like we've moved on (or are ready to move on) in our lives yet we still live in this tiny, not-all-that-3-kid-friendly apartment (and even less so now that Lydia is walking AND climbing and into all sorts of trouble), and because Matt really still does have to finish a whole slew of projects, papers, and test for classes. I'm sure the kids can sense that huge change is on the horizon and have been having issues of their own. We're really starting to go a bit crazy.
.
Thanks to Dori, who came and spent the day and evening with the kids (we just love you, Dori!), Matt and I got away to New York together one last time on Saturday to celebrate my birthday. Not that New York is relaxing in any way, but we really enjoyed going just the two of us and came home feeling rejuvinated and ready to finish out the rest of graduate school.

This is us at South Street Seaport, which in contrast to Midtown, really is quite relaxing.

Wow, May is going to be CRAZY for you guys! I know you'll survive. :) So who's wedding is in May? Good luck with everything!

Please don't tell me it's Dustin getting married in May, because there is an old roommate I have teaching in California that I want to set him up with. But if it IS Dustin getting married in May, that is SO exciting and who is she?

No, no. The wedding is Matt's (well both of ours, but mostly Matt's) really good friend, Mason Harrell. We'll make it there just in time!

Good luck with all the craziness, Mary! I was starting to stress about getting ready for a short trip we are taking next week, but your post reminded me that I really don't have that much to worry about! Thanks :)

Wow, you guys do have a busy May!

You probably already know this, but Mason's brother, Clinton, is married to Brent's sister, Lora! They'll be at the wedding too.

PS- What a cute picture of you two!

Hi Matt and Mary! Cute picture! Maybe one of these days when Grant is all better we will get to go to New York. We are so excited for you to move back to Cali! Wow, what a crazy month it will be for you and your family! I can't believe it has been two years already! Crazy! Oh, and mary -- I could use some tips on the blogging thing! I did start a blog for our family, but I haven't had to the time to sit down and figure out how it works! I really want to start blogging Grant's recovery! Any tips? We love you guys!

Mary, are you guys moving yourselves or having a moving company do it all? We're moving this summer too and working out all the nitty gritty details...blech.

Kate, how funny. I didn't realize. It'll be fun to meet her.

Hi Lora! We'll be excited to check in on your blog regularly!

Abby- We've got a moving company. Chevron takes care of everything with the relocation. It's so nice after 6 1/2 years of marriage, 3 states and 7 different aparments to finally have someone move for us! Did you figure out where you're going this summer?
