Kathleen

Kathleen Glauser is my mother-in-law of 6 1/2 years.

.
But I've known and loved her since I was in high school.
.
The weekend of my senior prom, my sister went into labor. My mom was in Utah to meet her first grandchild, so Kathleen came to help me get ready for Prom. (this was not the year I went to prom with her son)
.
When we were engaged, she wrote me a letter telling me how much she loved me and was happy I was going to be apart of her family.
.
When I was pregnant, she took me shopping for maternity clothes. She and I used to go out to lunch and get pedicures together.
.
One time, we learned a duet on the piano and played it in church.
.
Two years ago this last week, Kathleen passed away.
.
I've been thinking about her a lot lately. I miss her.
.
I miss the fun she and I would have had tonight painting our nails and eating ice cream while the men are all off to the Priesthood session of General Conference. I miss all the insight and wisdom she would have given me as my kids grow older, and the world grows darker. I miss her enthusiasm and her excitement for life. I miss the way she smothered my kids with love and attention.
.
.
As much as I love and miss her, I know my heartache can't even come close to that of her husband and 6 sons. My heart breaks for them. They are an amazing family, and I got really lucky to be a part of it.

Hi Mary,
This is Sharon Lovell (Allen). I stumbled on your page through Jess Ashton's page. I saw "Mary" and thought, "There aren't too many Mary's anymore... I wonder if it's Mary Glauser?!?" and to my wonderful surprise... it WAS Mary Glauser. Well, you have the most darling family and I loved reading through your blog. Take care of your cute family.
Sharon
P.S. What cute pictures of Kathleen and your kids. We all love and miss her warm smiling face. I see a lot of her in Ethan.

She was a great person and it shows in the great family she has. After all Matt picked you right! She was always so fun to be around. You are lucky to have known her so well and to be a part of her family and be the daughter she always wanted. Although I didn't see her much after Matt went on his mission, I still miss her too. It was always fun to run into her at church when I visited, in the Temple, or at functions that were in Redlands and catch up. I have a lot of good memories of her that I will never forget!

Mary, all I can say is I'm so sorry. I know the void created when you lose a mom and your children lose grandma. I'm glad you know about eternal families, and I hope you feel hope and peace in that knowledge.

Hi Mary. It's been a while since I've been able to check out your blog. Funny I chose today because Kathleen has been very much in my thoughts lately too. I sent Doug a quick letter a few days ago just telling him that I have been really thinking about them lately. I really love and miss Kathleen. It was great to see the pictures.
