i love fall

The ultimate fall scent: Warm Apple Crisp The kids and I went apple picking today.
After dinner, we made apple crisp and put it in the oven to bake while we left to pick up Matt from class. When we came home, the whole apartment was filled with this wonderful aroma. Then we ate it.

Looks so yummy. Do you mind sharing the recipe? Or is it a family secret? :)

Sure- it's not a secret recipe. It's from the Betty Crocker cookbook that I made some slight variations to. We LOVE it.

4 medium tark cooking apples, peeled, cored, and sliced (4 cups)
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1 cup oats
1/3 cup butter or stick margarine, softened
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg

1. Grease a 8x8x2 baking pan.
2. Spread apples into pan.
3. Combine the rest of the ingredients and sprinkle over apples.
4. Bake about 30 minutes at 375, or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender.
5. Serve with vanilla ice cream of whipped cream.

Happy Fall!
